Cleaning your Kapten & Son backpack: remove all stains in just 3 steps

When you receive your Kapten & Son backpack, it has already been waterproofed and is therefore protected against moisture and dirt. So there’s no need to worry about your new favourite item. If you ever want to refresh the protection, you can treat the rPET (recycled PET) with a waterproofing spray suitable for textile materials.

We recommend testing the spray on an inconspicuous area first and making sure to keep the recommended distance. Please note that your backpack warranty becomes void as soon as you waterproof it yourself.

The vegan tech material is already water-repellent, so there is nothing more you need to do here.

Aside from that, all Kapten & Son backpacks are very easy to care for.

This is best cleaned with a mixture of mild soap and lukewarm water. Work on the affected areas using a cotton cloth in circular or zigzag motions, remove any excess with a dry cloth, and then leave the backpack to air dry. For more stubborn stains, you can also use a magic eraser.

To clean these areas of your Kapten & Son backpack, mix a small amount of shampoo with water and remove stains and dirt in the same way as with the vegan tech material (step 1).

To avoid damaging your backpack, you should not wash it in the washing machine and should not use chemical cleaning agents.

With simple household items, you can already remove heavy dirt without damaging the material.
