  • Customer Experience Associate

    We are KAPTEN & SON, a young and driven digitally-native fashion brand from Germany founded in 2014. Today we are the fastest growing watch and sunglass brand in Europe with over 1 Million followers across our social media platforms and presence in over 30 countries. Our products stand out for superior quality at accessible prices and have been featured by Vogue, Fast Company, Glamour and many more top press outlets. Now, we want to continue our success story here in the USA with our brand new office in NYC. We’re searching for outgoing, detail oriented and passionate people.

     

    As a Customer Experience Associate, you are the face and voice of Kapten & Son. You're the first point of contact for our customers, aiming to build our brand from the ground up through engaging our customers with excellence. You will interface with customers on the phone, via email and social media. You are a problem-solver at heart with a sophisticated style of communication, an interest in fashion and drive to deliver to top experience.

     

    As a part of our Kapten crew your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

     

    • Delivering above-and-beyond customer service for incoming inquiries via phone, email and social media (i.e., respond to customer inquiries) and be the voice of our brand – you own the customer experience and are our customers’ internal advocate
    • Assisting in sales by providing detailed information about products and services with the goal of increasing revenue, improving retention rates and grow customer satisfaction
    • Providing fashion and style advice to customers
    • Gathering constructive feed-back from customers and making tactical recommendations to our team
    • Driving customer research efforts (e.g., through development of customer surveys)
    • Relentlessly thinking of ways to improve on service, streamlining processes, and better supporting customers
    • Thinking outside the box to optimize each customer's experience
    • Circling back with technology, marketing, design, and merchandising on customer insights and feedback
    • Being the cornerstone of Kapten & Son’s culture

     

    Qualifications and skills:

     

    • You're a recent college graduate or have 1-2 years of work experience, preferably with a consumer company (B2C)
    • Customer sales experience or experience working in a call center is a big plus
    • Distinctive EQ and exemplary communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Passion for fashion and style
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-productivity environment with tight deadlines along with a flexible working schedule to meet business needs (holidays, peak seasons, events, etc.)
    • A motivated, positive, and selfless attitude
    • Smart, highly organized and detail oriented
    • Applicable knowledge and experience in fashion, consumer goods & lifestyle is a plus
    • Friendly yet slightly firm in order to avoid being pushed over by customers and obtain losses for the company
    • Eager to learn and grow with Kapten & Son (you have a growth-mindset)

  • Retail Business Development Internship

We are headquartered in Europe and have just set up our 2nd international office here in New York City.. (situated in Williamsburg).     The Intership

    This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative minded, hard-working, ambitious individual to become a part of building a global brand. We want someone who can deliver under pressure and has a vivacious entrepreneurial persona.

    An initial 3 to 6 months contract with high opportunity to be permanent!

    Gain start-up like exposure in New York office while being backed-up by a global brand and offices in Germany and Australia. You must be able to show initiative and able to work with a dynamic team.

    As a part of our crew, your responsibilities include (but not limited to):

    Short-term

    • Identify possible retail partners.
    • Build a database of retailers who align with our brand.
    • Maintain strong relationships with our retail partners.
    • Work closely with our Sales Manager, to assist in organizing and planning meetings.

    Mid-Term

    • Meeting retail partners and be a front-facing representative
    • Organize events and special marketing campaigns with our existing partners.
    • Identifying, inquiring and negotiating additional B2B opportunities

    Long-Term

    • Executing own business meetings (includes travel interstate within the US)
    • Attend Trade Show events all over the states and work on the Retail Sales Marketing associated with the event.
    • Develop and close strategic partnerships and sponsorships with other businesses

    Qualifications and skills:

    • Academic background required
    • Be front facing, extrovert, charming and a possible representative of our brand
    • Have high sales background (preferably fashion retail)
    • You have charisma no one can exist, or a daring personality.
    • You have the ability to handle rejection and persist with positive energy, you don’t accept ‘no’s.
    • You have an affinity towards fashion, travel and lifestyle topics and you can identify yourself with our brand
    • You distinguish yourself through entrepreneurial thinking, creativity, remarkable engagement & enthusiasm and you like to take initiative
    • A hands-on collaborative style of working is a must
    • You like working in a start-up atmosphere with a young and dynamic team

    Applicants must be available full time.
