LET'S TRAVEL BACK IN TIME: AUGUST 2021

There was nothing we wanted more in summer 2021 than to feel free again at last, to go travelling and discover the world. Although it took a long time for things to return to normal, we had already started dreaming about it: Kapten & Son was ready for its first travel backpack. And who better suited for a co-creation than the popular travel couple @mariefeandjakesnow, aka Marie and Jake? Not only were we all on the same wavelength – there was a feel for design and the latest trends. And never mind that, they really do know what matters when travelling. The result of this partnership saw the light of day on 14 August 2021: the Bali by Mariefeandjakesnow in the colours All Black and Sandstone.

The minimalist, unisex look combined with premium materials and smart features works just as well when travelling as it does in everyday life. This formula has proven its worth: the two Original Styles in the Bali range are still available online and in all Kapten stores.

AUGUST 2022

Exactly a year after the Bali was launched, we knew it was time for something new. So we launched the Bali by Mariefeandjakesnow as a Limited Edition in Vanilla and Olive Green colour schemes. The warm vanilla tone and soft olive green reflect the sandy beaches and rice terraces in Bali – which is exactly why Marie and Jake chose these colours.

JUNE 2023

Why wait another whole year? When we can drop the Bali Muted Sage by Mariefeandjakesnow just in time for the start of summer! We got together with Marie and Jake to launch the 5th Bali colour scheme. This addition to the collection was short-lived, however, as the sage green was a Limited Summer Edition under the slogan 'Better quick than sorry!'.

SEPTEMBER 2024

Here we go again: the 6th update to Bali by Mariefeandjakesnow will be launched on 15 September 2024 – and it will be a very special one.

We have included both our community and Marie and Jake’s community for the first time. Followers were able to send in their suggestions on Instagram using a story template. The prize? An exclusive trip to the MaJa Villa in Bali. Being spoilt for choice with 250 submissions, we eventually decided together: the Bali Walnut by Mariefeandjakesnow  highlights the distinctive design of the travel backpack in on-trend taupe.

And that was not all. This year, Bali by Mariefeandjakesnow will become a full product range. Crossbody bags, wash bags, a travel pack and practical travel sets will all be available from September. All following the design of the Bali Backpack, naturally – and with the same goal: to make life easy and travel carefree.
